Harry Potter Is For Kids! Once More, With Feeling.

See, Potter people, this is exactly what I was talking about (via the awesome Margaret Soltan).

It looks like an advanced course, too.

Why do you want me to suffer? I tried to block that out.

And I was one who bought the last book the moment it came out. However, I have always regarded Potterville as candy. You know, like I should be eating whole grains and tofu, but I'm craving a Snicker's bar. Like that. Devoting class time to it? No... no... no... is there a class for sleezy beach novels? J.K. has a few things going for her book: the plot is awesome. Borrowed perhaps, from a million other sources, but, hi, so is the Bible. Also, it is funny, and not in the British-wait-for-a-moment-than-you'll-get-it -funny, but sharp funny.
So the THOUSANDS of pages don't seem so long.
But do I feel more fulfilled as a person from reading this? Enlightened? Inspired? Curious? That would be a no. I pity the students taking the course. They'll go to all that work only to realize that at the end of the day, her books are nothing but fluff.
